What is marquetry?

"Marquetry is the coverage of the entire surface of a board or piece of furniture with veneer, in the form of a skillfully applied design or picture."

The maps below are of fine quality and craftsmanship and are painstakingly made up from individual pieces of Australian woods. The text on the maps is highlighted in gold print and each state is inlaid with a different wood with each wood being identified on the back of the map together with some historical facts where relevant. Every map is also unique in that the woods are laid out differently.
Every map is boxed for gift presentation.
